The Waco Taperwing

This is the same airplane shown in the photo below with my great uncle Elmer M. Hinck. There were two Waco Taperwings at Northwest Airlines; one purchased by Shorty DuPonti and the other one by my grandfather. Rumor had it that when this photo was taken, the airplane was being run up by my father, Irving, who was about fourteen years old at the time.

My great uncle, Elmer M. Hinck, with a Hinck Flying Service Waco Taper Wing  purchased from Northwest Airlines. The airplane was an  ex-US Mail service airplane and was later used in air show aerobatics.
